VWS is committed to addressing the needs of our students and families through our governance structure.
Board of Trustees
Holds the school in trustBoard of Trustees
The Board sets strategy with the College of Teachers; oversees the legal, financial and general fiduciary decision-making for the school; and is involved in committee work across departments. Board membership is voluntary and made up of faculty, society, and board-appointed trustees. The Principal and the three departmental managers (Pedagogical, Development and Business) are ex-officio members.
College of Teachers & Faculty
Holds the spiritual mission, students, and pedagogical program in trustCollege of Teachers & Faculty
The College of Teachers sets strategy with the Board and ensures the integrity of all aspects of the pedagogical program. The College serves as an advisory body in decision-making and holds the spiritual impulse of the school. The Faculty is responsible for day-to-day classroom activities, presenting the curriculum, and working directly with children and parents in alignment with and with support from the College and the Pedagogical Manager.
Management Team & Administration
Holds the well-integrated operations in trustManagement Team & Administration
The Management Team collaborates to ensure that decision-making is integrated across the pedagogical (cultural), legal (rights), and financial (economic) spheres within the school. The Administration manages the day-to-day operations that support the pedagogical mission of the school.
Parents, Guardians & Alum
Holds the community in trustParents, Guardians & Alum
The social impulse of Waldorf education is supported by the Development Office and held by the families, alum and community. The community-based Parent Committee provides leadership on volunteerism, class communications, continuing education, and community events. This work is closely integrated with faculty, administration, and class representatives.
