We are seeking to expand our faculty with like-minded colleagues committed to working out of Waldorf education’s foundational theories and practices and who will inspire their students to love learning. Successful candidates will have excellent class management and organizational skills to teach up to 30 students successfully. Essential qualities also include strong communication, interpersonal skills, and working effectively in a collaborative environment across departments.

Teachers are contributing members of the Vancouver Waldorf School actively involved in the life of the school through participation in Faculty meetings, School events and committees. We are committed to supporting our faculty with mentoring and ongoing professional development opportunities.
The salary range for the 1.0 FTE position is $45,150 – $66,137 per annum, depending upon experience and qualifications. Employee benefits include tuition, extended Health Benefits, Life Insurance, Short and Long Term Disability, and and an RRSP matching program after 1 year of service. Canadian and Permanent Resident candidates may qualify for our relocation financial support programs up to $1,000.
We are a long-time member school with the Association of Waldorf Schools of North America and members of the Waldorf Early Childhood Association of North America. We are an accredited school with the Federation of Independent Schools of North America.
The five categories of Waldorf teachers include early childhood specialists, class teachers, learning support specialists, subject specialists, and high school specialists. Class teachers loop with their classes from year to year and teach the core academic subjects. Our subject teachers lead the programs of studies in French, Music, Handwork, Woodwork, Games and Sports and Eurythmy. All of our teachers work out of the pedagogical foundations of Waldorf education. Substitute teacher applications are processed throughout the school year.
