An Ode to Eurythmy

“When I teach my courses — mostly research, administration, and evolving consciousness — my classes are much more successful when my students do eurythmy and the other arts before they come to my class. It is hard to describe why. When they walk into my room without having had an artistic experience ahead of time, they are still good people seeking to learn, but the cognitive work only goes so far. Discussions can easily stay intellectual and abstract, and I have to work hard to “warm them up” and lift them into imaginative, participatory spiritual work. But when they do eurythmy for an hour or so first, they are ready! They come in smiling with a healthy glow; they take up the work holistically and seem integrated and truly open to new ideas. Learning after the artistic experience is exponential rather than just summative.” — Torin M. Finser
We are currently accepting applications. We have a rolling admissions policy and accept students throughout the year when space is available. Join an information session or meet individually with our Admissions Coordinator to learn more about the Vancouver Waldorf School.
Choosing a school is a significant decision in a family’s life. Our admissions process is designed to give you as much information as you need to make an informed decision about enrolling your children. Whenever possible, we encourage all families to book a visit when considering the Vancouver Waldorf School. We want to meet you! It is just as important for us to know who you are and what you are looking for in a school as it is for you to know who we are and what Waldorf education is about.
