Admissions at VWS

Choosing a school is an act of trust and care. At the Vancouver Waldorf School, learning begins in the wonder of the early years and deepens through adolescence in rhythm with human development.

Nestled in the forests and mountains of the North Shore, our school is part of an international movement devoted to educating the head, heart, and hands. Families join us seeking a slower, more intentional pace of childhood – one that honours imagination, fosters intellectual confidence, and builds emotional resilience within a warm, inclusive community, while preparing for the academic rigours of high school and beyond.

My wife and I always said to each other: It’s so great to drop our kids off at Waldorf. It feels like a family. Feels like a great place to leave your kids every morning.
Matthew, VWS Parent, Waldorf Alum

Your Admissions Path

Every family’s path begins with connection.

Your Admissions Path

Every family’s path begins with connection. These five steps outline what you can expect along the way.

Visiting the School

The best way to understand Waldorf education is to experience it.

Walk through our classrooms, meet teachers, and sense the calm rhythm that underlies each day. Our scheduled admissions events, designed for adults to listen, observe, and ask questions, have concluded for the school year; however, we still want to meet you. Visit the events page to arrange a private tour.

Tuition & Affordability

We believe that families who value Waldorf education should have access to it.

As a not-for-profit independent school, tuition sustains our teachers, programs, and the arts that infuse learning each day. The Tuition Adjustment Program provides reduced tuition based on demonstrated financial need.

A Feeling of Belonging

I did feel like school was like a second home, and that my teachers cared so much about me and my future, but also me as a person.

One thing that I’ve learned about Waldorf is that it’s about the education fitting your child’s development, instead of your child fitting the educational system.

These are the moments that define life at the Vancouver Waldorf School – a place where learning is lived and every child is known.
