VWS Admissions Process
Thank you for your interest in the Vancouver Waldorf School!
Choosing a school is one of the most significant decisions you will make for your child and your family. Whether you are new to Waldorf education or transferring from another Waldorf school, we are here to assist you as you make decisions about your child’s education.
We have a rolling admissions policy and accept students throughout the year when space is available. Our admissions process is designed to give you as much information as you need to make an informed decision about enrolling your children. Follow the steps below to learn more about becoming part of the Vancouver Waldorf School community.
As prospective parents, you likely have questions: How do I apply? Is there an age cut-off for my child’s class or program? How do children from other school systems transition to Waldorf? We hope to answer many of your queries in our Admissions FAQs.
1Inquire
The first step of the admissions process is to inquire about space and provide us with some basic details about your family, including the age of your child, their birthdate, and the school year you want to enrol in by emailing the Admissions Office at admissions@vws.ca to begin the conversation. We encourage you to attend an upcoming information session or open house or request a private tour.
2Submit an Application
When you are sure that Waldorf education is right for your family and you are ready to proceed, we welcome you to complete an application.
For your application to be considered, a non-refundable application fee is required, along with a copy of your child’s birth certificate, K-12 report cards for the past two years, and copies of any educational or medical assessments and IEPs.
3Admissions Decision
Once the Admissions Office has received your completed application, supporting documentation and fees, the admissions team, including appropriate faculty members, will review your case. If your child is accepted, the Admissions Office will contact you to discuss the next steps—complete additional forms, review volunteer and fundraising commitments, and sign a tuition agreement.
Tuition Adjustment Program
Tuition assistance is determined after the child has been accepted for enrollment, and all other forms and records are complete. If you are interested in applying for need-based tuition assistance, please click here for more information.
Policy on Non-Discrimination
Vancouver Waldorf School does not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, gender, ethnic background, or national origin in admission of students, in financial assistance, or in any program offered. Read more about our commitments to diversity, equity and inclusion.
